Privacy policy

Khinkali Knows is an entertainment app. There are no accounts, and we do not operate a backend or collect your fortunes on a developer-owned server. You can think of a question without typing it into the app.

What stays on your device

The fortune library and illustrations are bundled with the app. Recent fortune IDs and your last reading date are stored on your device to avoid repeats and remember your reading history. This information is not sent to us. Deleting the app’s data removes it, although your operating system may include it in device backups.

Sharing a fortune

Sharing is optional. The app prepares an image and opens your device’s share sheet, where you choose the destination. Temporary share images are released after sharing. Text sharing, or a clipboard fallback in the browser, may be used when image sharing is unavailable. The service you share to has its own privacy policy.

Ad-free release

The first App Store release (version 1.0.0, build 5 and later ad-free builds) has no advertising SDK, advertising requests, or developer-operated analytics. Every reading is free. The app does not collect or transmit personal data to us.

Earlier TestFlight builds

Earlier iOS TestFlight builds, including build 4, included Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform using sample ad units. Those test ads contact Google and may process device and network information, diagnostics, and ad interactions as described in Google’s privacy policy. They request non-personalized ads without Apple tracking permission. Available consent choices can be revisited under About → Advertising privacy choices in those older builds. Updating to the ad-free build removes that integration.

This website

This website offers free fortunes without ads or accounts. Your recent fortune IDs and last welcome greeting stay in this browser to avoid repeats; clearing browser data removes them. Sharing sends a reading only to the destination you choose. This page is hosted through Sites. The hosting service receives the network information needed to deliver the page, such as your IP address. We count daily page views, requests for fortunes, App Store link clicks, and broad referral categories (direct, search, social, other, or internal). These aggregate counts are stored with our hosting service for up to 365 days and are visible only in our private activity dashboard. We do not store IP addresses, individual visitor identifiers, full referring URLs, or questions in this analytics database, and we do not use analytics cookies or fingerprinting. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Repeat visits count again; these are activity totals, not counts of unique people. We have no advertising or contact form on this website. This website analytics does not run in the iPhone app.
